Duron 750 @ 1000: VIA 133
45GB 75GXP
Promise Ultra100 ATA/100 PCI Controller
It's not RAID
Used since July... no problem whatsoever.

Look at my sig for configuration (HD is on Raid controller, running Win98 SE).

Problem:
It takes 85 seconds to copy a 162 MB asf file within a folder on D partition that is only 6% fragmented (according to IBM's drive utility) and 125 seconds to copy it to C partition (12% fragmented).

I don't find my computer so slow but doesn't copying large files takes like a minute or two too long? Don't know if this is the drive's fault though.

Sandra2001 drive index:
c partition -> 15376
d partition -> 18621

OK couldn't resist.

At the moment my IBM 75GXP 30GB is running in my P120 with IBM drive overlay and Win95 (2GB partitions & FAT16).
PIO mode 4 I believe, been working fine for 4 months now.
Well at least I don't need to worry about any patch.

Soon to install both 30GBs on KT7-RAID.

- Celeron2 566@850, Microstar BX Master
- 30GB
- Onboard Promise Ultra/66 controller

Epox EP-8KTA2
Duron 600 @ 900MHz
30GB 75GXP
VIA southbridge, ATA100 mode
no RAID

No problems...one drive manufactured in Singapore and the other in Hungary. Both in use for 4+ months. Using 98Lite Micro in both systems and just added a wave file to slow down the shutdown process.

Super6

Intel 700e@980 - BX

Intel BX
Had it for about 4 or so months..
Even runs with the PCI bus at 44Mhz NP

Intel
running in Cousins machine for 6 months

Athlon "Classic" 850@1045 (1.85, 9.5X110)
Abit KA7-100 (Via KX133)

2 30gb 75GXP (ATA100/Raid 0) on Highpoint 390 (c: drive)
1 20gb 75GXP on Promise Ultra 100 card, no Raid (backup drive)

Both run great, the Highpoint is slightly faster in tests in non-raid mode than the Promise chip. I have had Win2k running for 8 months now with no problems. I installed directly to the Raid drive..smooth as silk.
