I bought this off the FS/T a while back and I had to LLF it recently. After LLFing the hard drive only shows as 1.9GB. This is a 30GB HDD. IS there anyway I can get it back to 30GB? I tried the IBM tool for LLFing and I've tried the Large Disk Tools floppy. Please help me out people.

Hmm, so fdisk only shows 1.9GB total on the drive. I've never came across something like that before. You got me.

Nope I formatted in NTFS. Perhaps I should RMA it. The drive is only being shown to have 1962KB of cache on it. I wonder...

Did the guy that sold it to you have any problems with it. Maybe that is why it was for sale. Maybe he took the sticker off another drive and placed it on this drive. :) You never know.

The cache number is probably correct (I assume the drive has a 2MB cache?). Does the IBM tool show the proper capacity or no? Have you tried the diagnostic tools on the floppy?

Yeah, I tried the diagnostic tools. The drive comes up fine. For some reason though I can't get it to go past 1.9GB.

Is there a Cylinder or Capacity limitation jumper on the drive? That could cause the problem you're describing.

Found this: http://www.hgst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/85256AB8006A31E587256A790053B56F/$file/D40GV_D75GXP_D60GXP_dig1101.pdf

Sorry for the bad link, but there is a cylinder limitation jumper listed in the Appendix under Jumper Settings.
