ibm A21m screen dying, or something else?

hi,

I have an issue with a laptop (ibm A21m) that i got from ebay that has everything working great but the screen. When i power it up it is almost completely black, but the vga out works fine. What could be wrong, do i need a new LCD screen, or could a connection be loose?

Assuming you have the brightness adjusted all the way up, then it probably is a bad screen. They do tend to get dimmer over time.

Yes, I have played with the brightness and the resolution settings with just the LCD, and nothing

Time to get a replacement I guess
