Hey, I was going to use the $30 off $150 coupon, put something that was only $87 in the basket, and it's already showing the $30 off. I went through the checkout process and with only 1 button left to push, it's still showing the $30 off.

Has anyone tried to use this on less that a $150 purchase? WIll they cancel it or ding me for the full $87?

Thanks gittyup. I was just about to risk it. I guess I'll have to go the 10 off 30 route.

How is $141.95 (you didn't even mention shipping which would make it more than $142) a Hot Deal? I can PM this $151 with Staples and then use the $25 off $100 coupon from t*chbargains.com. I feel this is a better value overall. Mind you, I'm not saying my method is a hot deal, but its certainly cheaper than $142+. Anyone have more suggestions? I need a 45GB, but I want it cheaper than $125 (I'm broke).

Yeah I would hold off on this deal until it's sweeter. Last month you could get this for 140 with a ata100 controller card, a zip100 drive, and something else I think for the same price. Don't worry, just be patient. If you can't be patient then I guess this is probably the best deal you'll find now.

I think you're talking about Maxtor from Staples. It was one of the best deal for sometime.

This is the IBM, not the Maxtor people, IBM is better and the quietest IDE drive I have never heard. No ATA/100 pci card included and Staples doesn't carry the IBM>

Oh, yeah. The quitest IDE drive I've ever experienced, and a data blaster at that.

I have one and I love it.

I should point out a couple things to you. Let's assume Staples DOES carry this drive (which they do not to begin with) and you place the order and price match it for $151. There is a $30 off $150 coupon right now, which bring your order to $121. Don't forget Staples also price matches what the other vendor charges to ship the item overnight. With the company you linked to, overnight shipping is $35 on this drive. So you're already back up to $156. Then add in tax, which staples charges in every state, and you're over $160. This deal for $148 from buy.com is pretty damn good. Try again.

Yeah, these drives are definatly top of the line in IDE terms.

Be sure to have them securely mounted on your drive bays with all four screws as these HDDs get very hot.

If you can get good air circulation moving accross the drives, even better.

I think we all missed it how are you going to get staples to price match for 141.00 when the cost is $171.00 ??? and yes I know they do'nt stock IBM'S the first thing they do is check the web site.
