using nothing but ibm drives here, my 45 gig failed twice, all the newer ones, 60 gig and up works flawlessly.

Those new drives do sound quite impressive. I have returned two 75GXPs in the past and currently have two 60GXP's and one 120GXP in my system. The latter three have been running well for a while, and I am at least convinced that IBM's newer drives do not have the same problems as the 75GXP's. So needless to say I am a fan of IBM drives. If these drives come in SerialATA (which they should), do well in RAID0 (as previous IBM drives have), and provide over 65 MB/s beginning xfer rates (which they might), I could see these drives as a possible replacement for my current RAID0 array.
