Repost from a while back. Still a good deal on a fast printer. I bought mine from my work when they closed down about two years ago. The cheapest place I've found for toner has been e-baay. I picked a toner cart up about a year ago when the low toner warning came on. I just put it in though because it still printed fine even though it said it was low.

17ppm is one helluva fast laser, not as fast as the 24ppm we have at work but this costs about 1/10th less.

According to the page counter on the printer, it's printed 22,320 pages. I'm pretty sure that this is the third toner cartridge to go into it. So I guess the carts are 10,000-11,000 pages. Prices vary when you are looking for toner. I got mine last year and I think I paid about $50 for it. I don't think I will ever print 10,000 pages so I doubt I'll be buying another cartridge for it.

Looks like it takes a standard 32 meg FP SIMM to upgrade the memory. I think I have a bunch of them in the scrap box. Cool! I just ordered one with the additional 500 page tray. Shipping is $40...

Yup, I stuck in a couple old 16MB SIMMS that were lying around, and the printer likes 'em just fine! The printer on its own is a nice size, but once you're done sticking two 500-sheet trays on it, it is a towering monster!

Given my printing demands, this printer will serve me for a VERY long time.
