IBill issues EDIT: Resolved!!

Well, I went and TRIED to renew my sub. but my CC kept getting declined. So, I call my CC company and they tell me everythings fine and nobody's tried to approve a purchase in the last few days, plenty of credit on the card. So, I try again, Decline instantly, everytime, with different cards. So, I go to IBill's site and get to the FAQ. If You have EVER had a chargeback they will blacklist you! The cheap ********'s blaclisted me? sheesh, last year someone got hold of my card# and I got several fraudulant charges that I of course dispuded and had removed. One or two from IBill... So, now I'm forever barred from using IBill in any of my transactions!

So, I sent a note to subscribe@Anandtech.com asking about different payment methods (paypal come to mind) but haven't gotten a response. How long till Anand replies?
 
If you would like, I can place the charges for your subscription on my credit card and you can pay me via paypal or money order. Contact me via PM if you are interested.
 
I appreciate (sp) the offer and, If that's the only way we'll work out the details in PM's. However I'd like to see if Anand has anything to say first!

iBill sets their own policies, not Anand.

Read his post again. He wasn't asking Anand to change iBill's policies. He was asking if Anand had another way of accepting payment.

 
welp, guess that settles that, the AnandTech Store will not be using iBill for processing credit card payments...
 
I hope maybe this weekend Anand will reply. If not I'll PM minendo and see what we can put together. It's really sad I have to deal with a problem like this. Maybe now that Paypall and Ebay are combined, Paypall will game more exceptance.

Yea IBill sets their own policy but I think this is a bit extreme, the chargebacks to IBill were for under one hundred dollars from 3 seperate web merchants. A little research into the chargebacks shows two other internet billing companies might have blacklisted me also. This is really upsetting, I'm now going to order a credit report to see if they have added anything to it. To think I have to protect myself not only from the identity thieves, but from this kind of situation really galls me. Anyway that's a bit off topic.


I read somewhere that Anand personaly reads all the subscriptions@anandtech.com mail. Is he out of town this week or busy?
 
How can you be blacklisted with different cards.

don't forget that you need to put your info exactly as shown on your cc's mailing address otherwise it won't go through.
 
Yep, I understand the "exactly as on the card" checked and double checked. They can blacklist names as well as CC numbers I'm positive.

Each card is declined instanlty, plus, the cards customer service dosen't show any attempt to authorize a purchase, even if the address is wrong it would show as an attempt.

Maybe my wifes card will go through! :Q Dang I got to try that! Hmmmm, now how to get my wife card....

EDIT: My wife card worked! However I'm still upset with IBill!
