Holy crap they are rolling out new chips faster then my grandma can bake blueberry pies. I actually recently learned that there was such thing as an i5. I had only heard of the i7. Now they have an i9? lol crazy. This is why I never buy whatever is top of the line because it's only top of the line for a couple months.

Good news is now the i7's will probably go down in price. (once the i9 is officially released)

How can i know what B0 and A0 steping is on my cpu and on other cpu btw,

that price 1200$ is not bad just the 2.4ghz is a little small per core or not?, 2.69ghz,2.99ghz, and so would be a verry better solution

3.07 :X

that guy who bought the gulftown will need the asus p6x58d premium or the gigabyte ga-x58a-ud7 mobo that supports the cpu

worked fine on my classified.

I like the idea of hexcore with 2 cores disabled but the Xenon listed @ XS had a stock speed of 3.2 Ghz.

Therefore I am worried it could be quite an expensive part.

A 2.4 Ghz Gulftown with 2 cores disabled is what gamers really need.

great aigomorla ,nice temp and on 3.07ghz its a way better thn on 2.4ghz, but why are the core speeds hidden?
If I'd have to guess I'd say because Aigo and his sponsor were under an NDA when he took the picture

Hopefully he'll be allowed to post more information.. can't wait for it 😉

umm... look at the real temps screenie again... not @ 3ghz.... its 4.4ghz, running prime with HT on and not topping 60 degrees thats more than a 'nice' temp imo 🙂

will an ES gulftown run on a gigabyte UD5? If so, which bios would be recommended? I currently have a UD5 with F9E.

Reading this thread has me worried: I was going to buy an i7 920 for a new PC, how much are we talking it dropping price? And for that matter, around how much will these i9s go for? I'm hoping nowhere near $300, lest my purchase be a complete waste.

Why should the i7 go down? You can get it for $199 at MC or $250 or so from etailers. Most of these 920s will OC >3.6GHz.

This might push down the price of the existing 975 when the 6-core is released. It would seem silly to have both priced ~$1000 with a 2-core difference (I know the clockspeeds will be different).

well i dont know what to tell you guys at this moment.

The gulftown i showed is an A0.

B0's are already being passed to authorized sources.

I think by the time they hit retail, looking at launch, we might even see C1/C0's again.

As for price, yes the one i showed is gonna be pricey.
Its the XE edition for the 3.07ghz.
Not sure if its gonna be final, it could be a pre sample ES.

However i think you guys will like the quadcore version, that will come out as a Xeon, before a i7.

Finally! A replacement for my 920 C0. 😀

So what about this quadcore version? Will that be sky high in the prices as well? Or am I worrying about parts that won't be coming out for quite a while?

it wont be 920 cheap.

Probably priced near the 940/950.

Once NDA expires... wont be til next year, i can show u the CB and other benches.

First comment is gonna be a OMG, as you wipe the drool leaking from the side.

I've seen everything + some from the A0 revision, only thing I care about now is if the B0 revision is significantly better then the A0 or not.
