i7 920 or GTX 260 SLI

Hey guys! I really need your help on this one. I have been looking at different setups for the new computer I am planing to build (about $960 - $980), but I have run into one really big problem (at least 4 me).
Should I buy an i7 920 (with one GTX 260 oc) and wait to buy another 260 (another 2-3 months) or use the money I would save buying a phenom II 940 to buy two GTX 260 graphic cards and sli them

My primary goal is to run crysis @ very high or high 1680x1050, but I do other things as well... Such as adobe photoshop & audition (play around with), autocad, etc

The 650w version is actually better I read somewhere, as in not just for the wattage but overall. It is made by Seasonic unlike that unit.

Personally I would go i7 + 1 GTX 260 and add a second 260 down the line. Its much easier and less expensive to add a video card than to swap out CPU, MB, and RAM.

+1

I recently just built an i7 + 260 GTX setup and it's been amazing. Can add the 2nd card down the road for much much cheaper.

I was going to build an i7 rig, but went with the X3 720 because of the price vs. performance. The 720 will never reach the i7, but since I will be OCing it, its price is worth more than the inflated i7, ddr3, mobo prices right now. Personally, I will be building an i7 rig down the road. Right now the prices just turn me away.

I vote SLI as the phenom II's are strong performers even if you don't OC them. OCing the 940 w/ dual 260's would put your setup in a very strong position. And again, the phenom's are juicy right now in terms of price!!

Unfortunately the 650W does not have the required PCIe connectors for 2 GTX260s.

I'd go for an i7 as well, especially if you ever plan on doing x264 encoding. The clock-per-clock improvements over Penryn are over 40% in many cases!!

You do not need SLI at that resolution. Go with a 4870 1GB now and add its successor in a couple months. That is the reason I like crossfire over SLI, you can add current generation GPU's to an older model. The i7 will last you much longer than either of the other two options.
