i7 920 installation question

I just got my i7 920 and an Asus P6T Deluxe mobo and I have a question regarding the installation of the CPU. I have done many installs of s775 CPUs but this is my first LGA1366. I lined up the notches on the CPU with the notches in the socket and I am fairly sure it was flat in the socket. When closing the retention mechanism and then trying to lock the arm in place, there seems to be more 'resistance' than i am used to and the arm seems to have a slight bend in it. Is this normal for these LGA 1366 CPUs?

I just installed the i7 920 on the Asus p6t deluxe and noticed the same resistance. I am not sure why it is so hard to lock into place. Like you, I would love to know if there is a reason for it. Sorry i don't have an answer for you, but you are not alone.

As long as the notches line up and its flat you are ok.

There is a bit of force required to get the retention mechanism to close.
