High 30's is considered good for Intel at stock? My AMD cpu was 600mhz faster and considerably more voltage and it ran in the low 30s. I thought Intel ran cooler

30 for stock cool is incredible. my i5-750 ran at 60C on load with the stock cooler and it was loud. with watercooling my i5-750 does 40C dead silent

well you are wrong, low 60s for Intel is great, mostly when you oc intel can go to 80s even on top of the line cooler. Amd, I don't know why, doesn't release too much heat. 50s on most chips. so it's much easier to cool.

Just did some research on Frostytech and its confirmed that the SilenX fan rates pretty poorly and not much different than the stock intel cooler. I've been with AMD for several years now and didn't know about the heat issue when OCing. The nice thing is the Xigmatek 1283 HSF I have rates about 24 degrees better than the SilenX so I should be great once the 1156 bracket I ordered arrives. Thanks for all the info.

Just installed my new intel 760 cpu with its included HSF and noticed that the temps were in the high 30's. Cooler appears to be making good contact so I wanted to ask the users here if this is a normal temp. The case sides were off.

did you get your CPU on a black friday deal?
was the manufacture date in July 2010?

I bought one of these, DOA...wonder if it's a known bad batch, thus the nice discount

Got it at Newegg on BF but don't know the make date on it. Will check when I install my better cooler.

I'm guessing at default speeds, its OK but this cpu was made to OC to 4Ghz from everything I've seen so long as proper cooling is used. It would be a shame not to OC it.

Yeah the stock cooler is fine at stock speeds but not good enough for overclocking.

Everyone in this post has FAILED.
Why? Cuz no one asked him what temp monitor program he was running.

Is this the diode reporting on the board? or is this is Tjunct. Temp listed on core temp.

Where are you pulling these temps?

Also not all the time is the sensor accurate.
Infact the new intel processors, most of them idle below ambient when you have a beefy cooling on them.

So without him telling us where he is pulling these value's from, how can u guys say its fine, or its too hot?

I used RealTemp and also S.I.W to check the temps.
