I saw Core i7-3820 listed $274 and Xeon E5-2620 $345 at Gadgetar. I think those are best options IMO.

For gaming? Why? Neither of those is any better for gaming than an i5-3570.

Also, the OP is located in India, it's in his build thread over at GH.

Well, forget about the Xeon, then. Why didn't the OP note their location? It definitely affects part choices...

I nearly forgot about this thread, anyway thanks for all the replies, I've made up my mind and please do forgive me for not filling up details about the thread, I'm still new to forums but now thanks to all of you I now have the idea on posting here. anyway I'll go for the i5 3570, I'm still scared about the overclocking thing, still new to these things. I did read all about the replies and it did help.

There is no reason not to overclock. It is not scary. These days, it is incredibly simple and rewarding as clockspeed is still more important than nearly any other metric.

Google "3570k overclocking." You will find it is very easy. If you are worried about increased wear on your CPU, don't. It is insignificant for overclocks which do not or only slightly increase voltage.

The chance of damage for mild, stock voltage overclock is so small as to be effectively 0. It's only the monster overclocks using exotic cooling methods and a huge amount of voltage that will pose a serious risk.
