Neither will provide a good gaming experience. Something like dual core IVY + 7850 OCed would be far better. I don't know what are the prices for IVYs 2c/4t or pentiums 2/2. Where do you live? Prices vary from place to place. Maybe you can afford 2c/4t IVY + 7870 if it's not much pricier than 7850. Where I live 7870 is 28% more expensive than 7850 so it's a waste of money but if the price difference is just 10% I would go with 7870. Anything higher then that and it's not worth it.

i think i should get a i5 3570k and asrock xtreme4 mobo now and i will buy a gtx 670 or ati 7970 after 1-2 years coz i already have a 6670 1gb ddr5 gpu. i think it'll run most of upcoming games smoothly....what do you think...guys...

If you don't care about gaming for a year or two then sure, do it. You're not a gamer anyway.
IMHO right now your best option would be a pentium G860 + a radeon 7850 and some good mobo with CF support so down the road you can get a quad in there or another 7850 which can be OCed by 30% and more. Or just sell 7850 and buy a faster card. 7850CF Oced will be faster then a single GTX470.

buy a cheaper VGA, like the 7850, and try to find a less expensive CPU, emulators love high clocked intel CPUs, so maybe a used 2500K?

Apparently your motherboard will support up to a Phenom X4- not ideal, but still a decent upgrade. It might be worth looking into if you can find a cheap one second hand (don't know what prices are like where you are, but you can get them on the UK eBay for a lot less than £50). While it's obviously nowhere near as good as an Ivy Bridge quad core, it should still let you get some use out of a better graphics card.

only 95w Phenom 1 on the list...
imo you need a faster CPU for emulators and newer games with a fast (like the 7850 or 670) VGA.

I know, that's why I said Phenom X4, not Phenom II X4. ;)

It's far from ideal, I agree. But according to the benches it has a fairly noticeable impact: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/35?vs=29 (Compared against the slightly faster 4600+, as the 4400+ isn't available on there.) In my opinion he'd be better off with the cheap processor upgrade and a Geforce 660ti or HD 7850 than he would be with either of the original choices listed in the first post, for about the same price.

Get on eBay and buy second hand! You would be able to get a ivy bridge cpu, decent motherboard and a gpu! Do you need some new memory if upgrading motherboard? There's not much difference between ivy and sandy and a i5 cpu may be a lot cheaper and still spank your current cpu!

I concur with the others. The key is to balance your expenditure to improve both CPU and GPU. Games are heavily dependent on both and its likely you will get the best experience by getting a second hand top speed AMD processor in your board and then spending the rest on as Mich GPU as you can afford.

Balance is the key to getting good bang for buck in this case.
