I5 2400 overclock

Just built a new system to replace my aging core2duo e6600 system. Regret not spending the 30 for the k model, but as I mainly just use my sytem for Iracing/Rfactor, I think its sufficient. I'm using a biostar tz68+ board. my current overclock is 104mhz*36= 3744 I'm using a XGIMA GAIA cooler. Do these temps look good and safe? as im typing they are at 52 58 57 53 C in realtemp running prime95 for 20 min.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Thanks guys, in the trbo section of the bios, the highest i can set the multiplier core 1 is 36. the other 2 cores i believe is 35, then 34 for the 4th core. Ive seen others use 38, is this because I bought a heaper board? Well anyways, the performance is still magnitudes better than myprevious system, so no complaints! 🙂 I ran a full 100 lap truck race last night and all was stable, so should be set.

Thanks again

I'd move the 104 back to default and play with the turbo some more. I had the same problem but finally got mine to do 36 with 2-3 cores loaded and 38 with one. Best of both worlds for the price- 3.8GHz single threaded and 3.2-3.6 multi and at stock voltages and overclocking only the CPU. Might be able to get 4.5-5.x with a 'k' and a better board but at what price compared to this?
