Isn't the 560 Ti a 570 just newer?

Edit
Sorry I am way off, thought OP was talking about the new 560 Ti that came out which is closer to 570 performance

Yeah, I'd take the 1090T+970Mobo over locking myself into a H series mobo and 2400. But I'd be kicking myself for not finding the extra ~100 for a 2500K and Z68.

Not saving the extra coin is a personal choice this hobby has sucked enough cash from me😛

The locked chipset for me in the first place is what started this thread.

Sure a 2500k and gtx560 ti would work also but i doubt a oced 2500k will give me ultra settings in BF3 at good framerates.

Op, if I may suggest, an hd6970 2gb might give you better performance because of vram. An x6+ hd6970 make a nice match that will hand you running the game in ultra settings.

What do you mean?

2500K one of the fastest chips out. Should be able to handle ultra settings in BF3

If the 2500k also makes coffee and magically adds vram to a 1gb gtx560ti then i would buy it in a heartbeat.

Some settings on my radeon 6750 on high alone would eat all a memory on my card that being a 1gb model.

I'm running a 2500k @4.7ghz and a 560TI OC bumped up a little higher than factory with headroom left and it eats BF3 on high @1920x1080. On ultra I can notice it isn't quite so smooth but it is still more than playable, the game seems to manage vram limitations very well.

How about checking out the new 448core 560TI they have 1280mb of vram same as a 570 and are a little cheaper.

Ha, you're right

Yeah very extensive game. My friends 2600K OC and 6970 cannot run everything ultra (with No AA) the way he likes his smoothness and frames in game.

The 6970 2gb cost around $5-$30 more then the gtx570 depending on model.

Possible to get a 1090t and a 6970 but the motherboard of choice will more then likely be this
http://www.frys.com/product/6755395?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

or

http://www.frys.com/product/6689264?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Second option if i ditch the idea of a heatsink but i heard the stock cooler is capable of 4ghz for most people .

If the card from Amazon I PM'd you is an option, you'll actually save $25 😀

If my power supply would help in this thread its a thermaltake tr2 600 watt.

Dual 12v ramps one is 32a and the the other is 24a.

Bought it in a pinch for the current build so i doubt my system will be clocked much.

Ouuu, that might be a problem if you were to match up an X6 & an HD 6970.

Yup and replacing it for the build won't be a option.

Guess i answered my own Op lol.

i5 2400 can't be clocked and a gtx570 will be fast enough for me but if a 1090t doesn't bottleneck this card at stock the 970 is more appealing .

Since you aren't oc'ing with that powersupply go intel route

Are you planning to run that gtx 570 with your current power supply?

gtx570 requires a 550watt with 38amps...my power supply exceeds it pretty well.

Since i won't be overclocking i doubt my system will be pulling 400 watts at the wall.

Alright sounds good

Yeah tough call on the cpu's. I'm sure whatever you choose you'll be damn happy (maybe) haha

Never mind about the power supply, it seems like AMD has it listed as 550W recommended; just don't over clock it.

Don't care much for overclocking especially if i aim to have a system as is for a while.

The i5 2400 and h67 is set in the build but how does the 6970 perform versus the gtx570 in BF3 and other titles?

Maybe i should make a thread about it but i hate spamming threads over my complex build lol.

The build will be housed in a antec 300.

After using a e8200 and a radeon 6750 for a while i would be happy with a x4 955 and a 6850 but i got a bit of fun money so here comes the most complex build of the century lol.
