i2500k 212+ and asrock z68 ex3 gen3 overclock help

As the title states

a i2500k with a 212+ and a asrock z68 ex3 gen3.

It has a 0 overclock right now. I would like to see a very stable/safe 4.0-4.2 and I will openly admit i am a overclock newbie.

I am basically hoping someone out there has used or is using the same board and can basically walk me through every setting. Basically hold my hand. I need the board/chip to last another year or two minimum.

I have used the same board.I killed it when I dug pliers into the back traces while taking off a sink.

I have my i5 2500K at 4.5GHz stable for over 3 years now. 'By all cores'=45; BCLCK=100; 'Turbo"=On; Intel Speedstep=Disabled; C1 and C2=Disabled; c6=Disabled.

I have the same setting with you and my i2500k is rock stable at 4.2Hz, you can just the load optimize OC setting 4.2 in the UEFI and u;re good to go

I want my computer to run quiet and I usually leave it on overnight for torrenting so I have speedstep, C1-C2-C6 enable. Didn't change the stability that much
