Speaking of LCd, its huge difference, I can sit in front of my LCD 3x as long as I could on my CRT, you are paying more for the LCD, but that wud save u laser-eye-surgery later on...

Well, apparently, my friend asked at the CAL forums (cyber athlete amatuer league) and they said that I should totally go for the 1GB HIGH QUALITY RAM.

ok, and theres the reason why

cyber athlete......

anandtech.......

either way, im trying to tell you the 100% truth, the difference between ValueRAM and HIGH QUALITY RAM is null, worthless, nonexsistent.
at the very most, youll see a 3fps increase....

but the difference between 1GB and 2GB is very noticeable (try running textures and everything else ultra high on BF2 and see how well it runs on 1GB, then compare it to 2GB...)

2GB > > > > > > > (OWNS) 1GB

CAL people dont know sh!t. they just think they do. most people in CAL are just stupid little kids who want to be the best at CS, not computer techinicians or engineers like many of us here.

Alright, no reason to get hateful now. I'll discuss it further with my friend. Also, an arguement to the 1 High Quality GB VS the 2 Value GB is that with 1GB High quality RAM, whenever I upgrade, I can end up getting 2 GB GOOD quality RAM. Anyways I'm really starting to lean towards your side though, but I'm still a little confused. My friend says that it'a about the quality of the RAM, not the quantity.

I may end up getting an LCD. Point me to a good, cheap one. (via New egg)

Get one 1GB stick of high quality ram, that way when you realize your friend was talking out of his ass, you can get another 1 GB stick and not suffer a performance loss from the slower command rate that the CPU would use with 4 sticks of ram.

This would work (Cas2.5)
As would these (Cas2)

Yea, seriously.

How many more times do you want us to tell you, 2GB is the better option.

Stop trying to keep the 1GB option alive, and stop saying your gonna "ask your friend", its ovbious he has no clue as to what hes talking about.

Again, 2GB of good RAM is gonna own 1GB of fast RAM

and just so you know, having faster times doesnt effect quality, because if you buy OCZ Value RAM or OCZ Performance RAM, your still buying the OCZ brand, meaning its the same quality.
So, once more, 2GB >>>>>>> 1GB

Man..

Also, which way should I go? CyberPower? or NewEgg? Please answer!

I would go with building it myself. NewEgg is reliable reseller, and they have great customer service. Plus it's a fun learning experience putting a system together.

Would anyone like to reccommend me a good, flat screen monitor? A good, inexpensive one perhaps?

NOW IF YOU GET THE 1GB STICKS THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UPGRADE TO MORE THAN 512 STICKS SO IF YOU GET 512 STICKS MAX UPGRADE LIMIT IS 2GB. IF YOU GET 1GB STICKS MAX UPGRADE LIMIT IS 4GB.

...THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE
