I would like to see...

One thread with about two dozen posts about something important, dealing with the topic, and not have someone come in and try to divert it with either an extraneous attack on the President OR Kerry, or drag in dirt from say, 10 years ago, justifying it with something on the order of "see what YOUR guy did?". Liberals = Communists and Conservatives = Nazis out as well.

I know it isn't likely, but this forum could use the occasional break from the bloodletting.

I would like to see that as well: unfortunately humans are very social, and the need/desire to be in a group that share's your views is strong; but not all of us can step outside the group that easily when the the groups goals depart from their origins. Whether individual or group, people can be enticed by power, wealth, fame, etc., and in a group those enticements and desires can lead to the abridgement of freedoms/rights of others, within or without the group.
