Mmmm, yeah my 19" flatscreen CRT...yeah. See my rig below. I can play HL2 at highest settings at 12x10, and Doom 3 with High settings at 12x10. I can play FEAR at medium/high settings at 10x7. I COULD play BF2 at medium/high settings, but am forced to play it at low/medium due to lack of ram.

No, I don't play with AA/AF. To me, the "IQ" improvement is not worth that much framerate loss. RIght now, my video card is fine for any game out now, but RAM is the issue. But you'd be able to see that...right? no? huh.

BTW, my parents bought the computer, i put the video card in it. I know what I'm talking about. I'm not exaggerating the truth. I dont have money. What do you expect.

In fact, all of your posts are completely idiotic and have almost no logic behind your posts.

THe reason people are criticizing the IQ of Nvidia 6800/7800 cards is mainly because of the shimmering texture effect.
>>>

when i built my current sys early this year i read PLENTY reviews/reports of users with the 6800 pci-e card....and the fact that MANY complained about the shimmering finally made me get a X850XT instead.

SM3.0 is/was no issue 8/9 months ago and STILL is not really today.

However, NV probably did a good job with the 7800 now...

My criterium is ALWAYS what performance/IQ a card has with ALL of the eyecandy on...eg AAx4 min (better AAx6) and AF to the max...and then what hit each card will see.

Who would want a $400/$500 card and then run with lamer settings, turning all AA/AF off because he would get more fps ?

Thats also one reason i really do NOT care about 3dmark scores at all anymore....because OVERALL all recent cards are fast enough and people use 3dmark at standard "lamer settings" with AA/AF off and 1024 reso......problem is just that noone with some sanity left would use these settings in a real life/game app.

Eg. i run HL2 w/ 6xAA in 1280 (could also go 1600x).....smooth and fast as silk etc. because THIS IS the main reason i buy expensive gfx cards :) Looks great and plays great.

i can very well live with "only" 80fps and NO jaggies instead of desperately needing 150fps and have horrible jaggies because AA is off.

Makes as much sense as running it without textures at all in plain WIREFRAME and achieving 900fps.

Yes you do have a point, and i know i could play games with AA/AF on, but right now my RAM is limiting some of that, so technically, i can't do it much right now, but could (i'll be getting more ram soon). Besides, I'm used to having crappy hardware, and jaggies don't seem to bother me. So i hope you can understand that, because yes i do understand your pov.
