I wonder how much Microsoft spent on this packaging. Something actually innovative from MS?

So I did some snooping around and no one had the Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 in stock as it hasn't been released (not supposed to be released until December I think).

On a whim, I went to Best Buy's website to check to see if the local stores had any. Sure enough, it said that my store had it in stock so I went there yesterday. However, there were none on the shelves. So I went back home and today placed an order for in-store pickup and sure enough, I got a confirmation email to pick it up.

The most interesting thing about the mouse though is its packaging. It has the typical plastic bubble packaging, but with preforations sp? and holes to stick scissors in to cut open the package (THANK YOU! Someone is listening). But even more interesting is that Microsoft used the mouse's clear plastic carrying case as a part of the packing allowing the mouse to swivel around 360 degrees. It's actually kind cool and something you don't see too often with peripherals:

So, besides the scrolling how is the mouse feel?
Do the Power Point buttons on the bottom get in the way?
Are the buttons on the bottom easy to use?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking of buying these for the training rooms at my work. They do alot of presentations there (as well as training) and they need some sort of "pointing" device that will allow for slide switching and stuff :) Kinda funny, but this is product is one of the few that is Bluetooth.

Thanks.

The powerpoint buttons are slightly resessed in the bottom of the mouse and represent NO hinderence to normal mosuing duties.

The buttons are very easy to use. You just hold the device in your palm and the buttons fall right into place with your thumb's range of movement. It's actually more comfortable to use it in this position than it is as a regular mouse :D:D:D:D:D

And I'm still getting use to the size of the mouse, but then again that's the nature of mouse notebook mice given their small size. Instead of my hand resting on the mouse, I find myself "clawing" it.

That looks really nice, about time one of the big players put out a high end BT notebook mouse.

Hopefully my next work laptop will have bluetooth, I absolutely loathe dongles but must have a good mouse.

I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. Still pondering the $100 price tag. I'll probably just use it and wait til Amazon or Buy.com has it in stock (prices seem to be around $75), have it shipped to me, then return the new one to BB and get my $100 back

Way to show off the fact that you are a criminal.

If I return a new, un-opened product back to them within the return period, they don't give a crap. They put it right back on the shelf.

I honestly don't see how it is wrong either. I mean, maybe you can make the argument that they're losing out on the revenue they would get until it sells again, but I don't see that being that much.

Yeah, I don't see the big deal. All they know is that I'm returning a new, sealed product back to them. I could see if I was trying to return the mouse, in open packaging after the return period or something, but in this case they wouldn't create a fuss.

I'm not trying to bust your balls, but you did say you were going to use it, then return it, right?

Or do I fail at reading comprehension?

Your reading comprehension is low :D

1) Buy new mouse from Best Buy for $99.99 + tax.
2) Open packaging, use mouse, run freely through the fields singing the theme song to "The Sound of Music"
3) Order the same mouse online for ~ $70 when it becomes available and have it shipped to me
4) Return NEW SEALED mouse that I bought online to Best Buy within 30 days with my original receipt. Get back $99 + tax. Save ~$30 in the process
5) Best Buy receives a new mouse back which they can resell. I keep my original mouse and the savings.
