Technically if he didn't cancel your bid before he ended it early, you won the auction, which means he entered a legally binding agreement. A person with a rating of 20 should know this.

I can't understand why people go to Eb@y to buy something.
I don't think I can trust ANYONE there.

The words that are forbidden are highlighted for you.

Lawyer fees? Just the threat of legal action should be enough to get him to cough up...best check the small print of e.bay

It's great how there are plenty of naive people on eGay, like yourself Josh. If you buy this "opened" PS2 without going through eGay, then you two are not under any contract so eGay cannot help you if he defrauds you. Hell, send me $299.99 and I'll send you a PS2 Josh.

LOL. I told the guy that he had entered into a legally binding contract and this is what he said:

<<um yeah i know what your talking about, i have contacted e.bay and they said it was a fvck up of the system. I still have one but its opened there for i canceled it. E.bay costomer support should be sending you a letter about now!!

and I canceled the bids all of em

and for all legallity crap(im a 1st year law student :b )
im am only binded to an agreement if i was made aware of it
(its just like buying someing from amazon- purchasing a DVD title, and the system fvcks up, and send and bills you for 1000 of the same DVD, are you legally binded to the agreement??? - but the system says that you have made an order for 1000 copies --- i don't think so---)

and if worst comes to worst ill send you my PS2 keychine :) it looks just the the one in picture!!! (haha the package of the keychain says "playstation 2")>>

I TOLD HIM I WOULD GIVE HIM $100 for the OPENED PS2

My scam radar says to avoid at all costs. Just leave negative feedback if you don't get the email from Eb@y explaining it. That should be the end of it. As far as being a first year law student, that can't mean much. I'm a first year Chemical Engineer, and I don't go around trying to pretend I'm an expert in the field.

I'd wait on the ps2 anyway, because at the moment, the selections of games for the ps2 is pretty unimpressive. I know a guy who camped out at bestbuy to get his, and he was unimpressed with the games. After the first of the year, the hype should settle down, and there will be some cool games for it (Tony Hawk 3?!!?!).

$150 ain't that bad. It's 50% off for an opened PS2. I asked him if everything was in the box, etc. I think I'll have to go ahead and buy it. I'll let you know how it turns out...

For someone who's supposedly made it through college and is working towards a law degree, this person's spelling and grammar are horrible. He sounds more like some dumbass who thought he'd get a few $1000 bids for his PS2s and when he didn't, he pulled the auctions. I wouldn't buy anything from him unless you can afford to lose $150.

Thanks guys. I used your smarts :). Here's what he said in response to the $150 price quote:

<<NO im not sellit for under 400 plus shipping
the item had been deleted from the E.Bay aready (note: NO, it hasn't. Follow this link)
let me know if your willing to pay my price>>

My response:
<<Hey,
Wait wait hold on. You want me to pay $400 for an OPEN PS2?!! Are you serious?! You must be joking, and in response your other e-mail...

I NEVER got an e-mail from e.bay, so I will be leaving negative feedback. As far as being a first year law student, that can't mean much. My brother is a first year Electrical Engineer, and he doesn't go around trying to pretend he's an expert in the field. And another thing; For someone who's supposedly made it through college and is working towards a law degree, your spelling and grammar are horrible.

Now, I know you could actually be a truthful person trying to make a few bucks in the PS2 field, but you don't have to lie about calling up e.bay and talking to them about this matter. I would like to resolve this peacefully. Please let me know if there is any solution :)

Regards,
Josh>>

That's strange, my little 7-year-old brother keeps going on and on about how he's going to rip some guy off for $150 for an old Playstation.

;)

Good call, JPB. It was interesting how he supposidly had three at first, then ended your auction at $56 claiming he only had two, and then suddenly found one somewhere in the short time between the end of the auction, and the time you contacted him...I'd leave a really scathing negative on this one :

Hehe, the guys already got a negative feedback from someone other then JPB. Of course, its an auction for a d2 item, but it's still an auction...
