was shooting the pirates/houston doubleheader for my paper.

pirates down 8-2 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth..and a couple hits, couple walks, and a grand slam later, they win the game 9-8.

TV says that something like this hasnt happened in 50 years. :D

pretty cool. anybody else there/watch it on TV?

I didn't see it, but I read about it. Freaking amazing. One of the, if not the, worst teams in baseball scores 7, yes 7, runs in the bottom of the 9th to win. All with 2 outs no less!

the crowd went absolutely nuts. I didnt think it was possible, even after they loaded the bases and had the score 5-8. I mean, you think, "grand slam will win it"!!! while laughing your ass off cuz they are the pirates. :D And then it happens and you crap your pants. ;)

castilla almost had 4 homers in one game too. he was on fire.

Luckster, can we see some of your photos? :D

Anyway, I was at the Giants game about a week and a half ago against Colorado, where the Giants were down 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. A walk, a couple of hits, and a couple more walks and they won 2-1 all after two outs. Juan Acevedo chucked the ball into the upper deck after he walked in the winning run on four pitches. That was a pretty exciting game. I was glad I stuck around until the end.

Having said that I can scarcely imagine what it must've been like at that game today. That blows mine outta the water.

BTW, how many people were left in the stands by the ninth inning?

no photos online yet ( i dont think!)...and besides that, i had a really off-day today, not the day for it to happen, but my shooting sucked. you can poke around www.triblive.com and see if anything is posted,(i didnt bring the memory card with the pics on it home) but its nothing special. :)

im not even a big fan of baseball but i got chills down my spine when it happened. I'd say only about 1/2 the crowd was left, if that.
