I wish to offer a prayer for those who have died...

I have no real words to describe this. I pray for the families and friends of those lost in this tragedy.

Oh just and merciful God,

We are shocked by a series of terrible acts against humanity and especially our country. We pray for the innocent victims and their families. We pray also that those whose hearts are filled with hate might be turned away from evil. Help us not to speak or act rashly, not knowing by whom or why these awful deeds have been committed. Fill our hearts with compassion for those in need and strengthen our wills that we may do justly and love mercy and walk humbly before you.

In Christ's name,
Amen.

<< and a prayer for those that are still wondering if their loved ones are ok... >>

Yes... and for those who are injured, and for those who are fighting to save the lives of those still trapped...

And yes, I can still find it in my heart to offer a prayer for those who did this terrible deed. Perhaps they need God's love more than anyone, for they have commited the ultimate sin, killing in God's name... May he have mercy on their souls...

<< I give the victims my deepest condolensces but where was God when those poeple died? >>

My belief is that he was with them...

I believe God hears all prayers, even if sometimes the answer is no...

I don't know, it isn't my call to make. I simply wished to offer a prayer for those who have died, and for those who are in pain. Something like this is never easy, sometimes we don't have the answers and that makes us angry. Nothing we ever do to the people responsible will ever bring back the lives of those who have died. While I support such actions, I do think people should remember that it isn't revenge, it is justice. If you fill your heart with hate, it will burn you up inside, and do more damage to you than it ever will to your enemy... For you can only kill your enemy, but hate can destroy your soul.

You may consider asking God that question, he is the only one with the answer...

i guess he acts in mysterious ways eh?!?!. thats all there is to answer when trajedies like this happen

Read my edited reply above, I expanded it for you. 🙂

Rest assured, I don't claim to have the answers... I do however know who does...

I know it sounds insane, but god bless the people that are responisble for this. I believe everyone has a chance. I believe they were brainwashed by an opressive system. Maybe they will see the light confess and face justice. We can always hope.

hmm... i dunno how you can turn to your god when he has forsaken so many of his other followers. and im damn sure that them being alive is better than them being dead.

I'm not really very spiritual but...

With the Saints give rest, O Christ, to souls of thy servants [those who have departed this life today, except the bastards who committed these heinous acts] where there is neither sickness, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting.

And give peace to souls of those who mourn them.

"In the Lord I put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
For lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven: his eyes behod, his eyelelids try the children of men
The Lord treith the righteous, but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth
Upon the wicked he shall ran snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of thier cup.
For the righteous lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright." - Psalm 11
