I wish I were 16 again

RossMAN

Grand Nagus
I'm chatting with this guy on AIM who is offering to sell me his webhosting templates (3 of them) for $60.

He's into webhosting, web design, programming, etc. so I ask him how old are you? He says 16!!!

Damn when I was 16 I was fiddling around with a Mac Plus playing some stupid ass RPG game.

<--- 28 and old 🙁

😛

Gee, it shows that times have changed for some kids.

For me, I don't wish to be 16 again..if I had the choice to turn back the clock, I'd rather be 20.

Some kids are different though and enjoy nature, taking walks, mountain climbing, bike rides, etc!! I still do enjoy the outdoors though you don't have cute kangaroos here!!!!

And anand was what, 14 when he had this site up? albeit much smaller in popularity...

I was heavily into computers at around 11~12, learned BASIC and BASIC 2.0 on a Commodore VIC-20 and 64, and was starting to learn some assembly.

But that was circa 1982-83, NONE of my friends and very few schoolmates in my blue collar/agrarian home town in Michigan were "into" computers. Of those who were, most were in it for the games.

Around the same time, for reasons I never really figured out, on a social level I went from a 'nerd' to being among the popular crowd. Popular people, including girls, were paying attention to me for some reason and I didn't ask why.

That was it for the computers. My Commodore 64 collected dust and I never touched another computer for the next several years except in one class at school and a few in the computer lab at college (only because I had to). I never really became interested in them again until I was in my mid-20's. By then, so much had happened it was like being a complete and utter newb to computers all over again.

There's a cautionary tale for ya: girls are the debbil! haha

I wish I could start college all over again....so many things I would do differently...most of my life's regrets occurred around the age of 18...start of my first year at college.

<---and I'm only 19. I can't believe how badly i've messed up my life since (hs) graduation.
