I wish I was a Somali pirate

Seems that it would only be interesting for a few minutes here and there. 90% of the time, you'd be living in a shithole. 9.9% of the time, you'd be floating around in the middle of the ocean, waiting for a ship to come near. You'd spend all of 5 minutes taking over the ship & taking the crew hostage. Then, you'd sit around, guarding the hostages while waiting for your ransom demands to be filled.

Yeah, being a starving peasant in a country so lawless that you have to hug your AK all night every night and so poor that you have to risk your life attacking possibly armed ships sounds like a hell of a lot of fun.
 
I wouldn't want to be a pirate but I def would love to be the guy manning a turret on one of those navy ships blowing them out of the water 😉
 
What bugs me most about becoming a somalian pirate is the way they dress. Just like regular poor, downtrodden people. If they had cooler otufits, then I might consider it.
 
If I were a Somali 'Boat-Jacker' I'd at least make it interesting and increase my odds by dressing up as Johnny Depp / Jack Sparrow or wear eye patches or something. 😀

I'm sure this would throw off / confuse ship crewman enough to get on board because they want an autograph.

Or, just say the heck with it and rent out surplus Phalanx guns and mount a couple of them on random frieghters. That would end this entire piracy thing in a few weeks.
