Airbags deployed, radiator cracked, windshield cracked (star from airbags) and lord knows what else. I wish I had pictures but I dont have a camera. This blows. My bike is at a shop getting tuned (figures haha).

I was having such an awesome day today too. The skiing was great, my student rocked. His dad was blown away when he saw him ski. We had an awesome time. To top it off I saw a coyote on the drive down the canyon. It was pretty rad. I guess all good things come to an end.

EDIT: Oh, and I got a ****** ticket. For losing control of the vehicle and have expired registration (it expired on the 4th of this month). Weak sauce.

With all the money you saved by not having comprehensive, you should have not problem getting another vehicle.

I always though that optional insurance was to cover what you can not afford to replace on your own.

Ouch. Sucks dude. In for pics of the damage later so we can estimate the repair bill ... but you're probably looking at a fat wad of cash. :(

im glad i dont live in your world, insurance is mandatory here in az. im glad too, uninsured motorist accidents really mess up a persons day.

i have full coverage, along with under and uninsured insurance. i also have 100% replacement, so i wont get the "we will give you 70% of the book price..." bs.

and "rad" is way behind the times, is it coming back?

On my wifes vehicle, I have full replacement insurance.

On mine, only the bare minimums due to the fact it is old and easily replacable (from my viewpoint)

Both vehicles have uninsured coverage.

AZ does not stop the illegals from making it into Nevada and Nevada does not pro-actively pull plates when the insurance lapses. :(

Oh no I have insurance. It's liability insurance. It covers me if I hit you and mess your car up, it doesn't cover me if I crash my car. The insrance company looks at a 99 integra GS (not the GSR with the DOHC VTEC motor) as a sports car. The monthly bill was really high so I got liability.

How old is the car? What was it worth before the crash?

It's always good to have collision insurace if you don't have money in savings to replace the car. That said, if the car is only worth 1000 bucks, it's not really a big deal.
On the other hand if it's worth a few Gs, it sucks to be you.

BTW, air bags total a lot of "older cars.' The bags went off on my 96 Nissan and the car was killed. Was going to cost over 3Gs for parts alone. The car was worth 4400. It was totaled by the insruance

I have a friend who only had liability on his $18 000 Jetta when he hit a deer after owning it for less than a year. He now drives a 1991 Honda Accord. Sad story but I have no pity for him.

Well,... if you had every Anandtech forum member PayPaled you just ONE dollar,... you would have $160,275 to help buy a new car,....

Just start another thread "Help a lifer out",.....

I'll pony up a buck for ya.

;)

Anyways, sorry to hear about your bad luck, bud.

That always pisses me off when I hear stuff like that. Some poor guy has an accident that doesnt involve anyone else, just him, wrecks his car, and some cop has to add to everything by ticketing you for crashing. Sucks about the expired reg ticket too, cops usually give you a 30 day grace period on that kind of thing.
