I love giving gifts, I just wish I had a ton of cash so I could give more people cooler stuff for Xmas.

It's so much fun watching people's faces when you surprise em with a present ! :gift:

It makes me sad to not be able to gift in the manner that I would like to🙁

This year, we basically combined most of our Christmas budget and gave our 11 y.o. daughter a new violin. The package set us back about $2,300, but our daughter cried this evening when she opened it up. She was more than thrilled.

That's awesome. Nothing like a great instrument to inspire a player. I learned that first hand a year or two ago.

Just hope she doesn't lose interest in a couple years. 🙂

Quality violins don't really depreciate.

Hope that she doesn't destroy it in a fit of anger.

Gifts can be giving at any time of the year.

I just wish I had a ton of cash so I could give more people cooler stuff for Xmas.
It doesn't have to cost lots of $$$.

It's so much fun watching people's faces when you surprise em with a present ! :gift:
There are many ways to surprise and make people happy.

It makes me sad to not be able to gift in the manner that I would like to🙁
Laughter is the world best medicine.

Kind, helpful & smiles is the thing that most of people lack in their life.

Actually, my daughter is currently a 3rd year violin student. In March, the 3-year contract with our "rental" violin will be up. By that time, we will have spent over $1,000 to rent a $200-300 violin. Honestly, though, we never thought our daughter would stay with it that long. She learned how to play the piano in short of 8 weeks of lessons, then asked to play the violin. This is something that she's loved to do on her own without us prodding her along.

I guess that's the key to her success and love with the violin.

Man, you're rough. As indicated above, she's in her 3rd year of playing now. We did have the violin on loan for a week about a month ago. She'll have this violin until she reaches college age since it's a 4/4 size.
