I will switch to Mozilla from IE if...

...I can configure it to open maximized everytime a new page opens. I cant stand how IE wont let me click on a link to open a new page and I have to manually resize it everytime. Or if I close a non-maximized page LAST, the next time I open IE it saves that size and I have to maximize it again! AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Does Mozilla do this? Or Opera even?

I bet the Mozilla developers are reading this thread and adding that feature right now, because they care so much if you switch browsers.

tabbed browsing is a thing of beauty
what i love most about opera 7 🙂

cool thing about tab browsing is that you could click on the tab you want to survive and nuke the other ones instantly

Well Ive never used tab based browsing, but I hear all the cool kids are doing it so...
I switched over from IE just to see what it was like. Tabs and the popup blocker are great. I can't go back now.

nevermind. thought I had an IE fix for you, but it didn;t work for me either.

That will make the initial page open maximized, but any subsequent pages afterwords will open however you manually resized the corners. Plus then I have to make sure I close a maximised window last otherwise next time I open IE it will be non-maximised! So fvcking annoying.

of course, no matter how you modify ie, you're still using ie and all it's inherent bugs that people like to exploit

What's this craze about tabbed browsing ? Alt-tab switching is faster than point and clicking tabs.

While I like tabbed browsing, im not one to start mashing my pud over it...Its just another task bar for browsing windows only.

Mozilla is sweet. Upon a clean install of XP Pro on each of our 3 home computers the first thing I do is make it the default browser.

HelloDeli, there's a way to have IE memorize the size of new windows.

But I forget how.

😀
1) I see a way to open it maximized all the time... on my desktop is a shortcut to IE6. Right-click it --> properties --> Run: Maximized.

2) Clicking on a link to open a new window: Shift-click links.

3) If you click the X to close IE, it will memorize the size. Close it via other means and it won't.
