I will support Ron Paul and his ideals until the day he dies.

I was watching a news clip from Bill Clinton's rally for Hillary last night, at UC Davis, when all these nuts started jumping up and down holding Ron Paul signs and being disruptive like children. That drew a picture in my mind of how the average RP loon looks and behaves.

I thought to myself how immature they looked and acted. I'd hate to see how the Paul supporters behave at the RNC. I expect total chaos.

heh, one thing radical politician have going for them, is radical fans who will follow them no matter what.

RP isn't radical. Quite the opposite, he's extremely conservative, and not in a GW neocon kind of way either.

I'd say going gold standard and getting rid of Fed is pretty radical......

Because we were never that way before, right? 😛

Or should I say going from living in a mansion to stone age cave is pretty radical. We were that way once before too. 😀

You're thinking of the Green party. 😛

Hehehehehe

As I've said all along, Ron Paul has some good ideas, but he's not electable by the MAJORITY of Americans. The more the Ron Paul supporters rally, the more they're seen as fanatics and moonbats.
It's one thing to support a candidate you think would make a good President, it's totally another thing to spam every available media with the "ZOMG! RON PAUL, RON PAUL, RON PAUL, RON PAUL, RON PAUL, RON PAUL, RON PAUL...you get the idea.
IMO, our political system is so corrupt and bought & paid for by the corporations, that a well meaning person like Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance, and even if every other candidate died in a tragic plane crash on the eve of the November elections, either they'd find a way to keep him from getting elected, or they'd arrange an "accident", or, should miracles happen and he actually got elected, he'd be the most ineffective President in history, because Congress is bought and paid for, so they wouldn't support his policies...

You have no idea how desperate some of us are becoming. Many have accused Ron Paul of being a pacifist. Gandhi was not and neither is Ron Paul. Wait and see what happens in th next two years. Anger has a way of motivating people. You have witnessed the beginning of something. Remember it.

Desperate and angry?
Sounds convincing enough for me to join up!
I think I still have a crazy propeller hat with the initials R.P. on it from years ago when that other forgettable guy with the same initals ran...
Honestly though, the fanatics turn more people off than get them interested.

LOL!! wtf is that supposed to mean!? Do you clowns plan to take up arms and march on Washington!?

Most of the "anger" and "motivation" will be gone by March 2009, and the rest of you will end up in rural militias and on the FBI's Most Wanted lists... seriously.

bet?

I certainly think its good that people take an interest in, and support, "fringe" candidates such as Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, or whoever. But the attitude of the Ron Paul supporters just kind of puzzles me. You like him, you support his ideas, we get it. But the man is not the messiah, he is not going to walk on water if elected, and he is most certainly not going to magically change your life for the better if elected.

Why vote at all? The establishment is never going to change, right? Is that your message to us? No offense to you, but I spit on that.

Where does my post even suggest that? As I stated, I think its good that people support the fringe candidates. I voted for one of them in fact. My post is specific to the Ron Paul supporters who have elevated him to a godlike status and just spew venom on those who aren't as enlightened as them.

Being a spectator of American politics I have a difficult time imagining another like Ron Paul. Nonetheless I will support anyone who supports his ideas.
That was my point. Why don't you try supporting his ideas instead of just him as a person? People have flaws. Ideas can be perfect.

Let's see, we can have a president whose supporters act like children, or we can have a president who acts like a child. I'll stick with Paul.

Whoops! Looks like many people are watching for a response now.

How do you and your ilk stack up against me sparky? Want me to show the dozens of threads I thrash your ilk in? Care to mix it up now after I have thrashed your ilk in this thread? Come on sparky, lets dance.

How come you and several of your ilk refuse to take me on?

Whoops! Looks like many people are watching for a response now.

You seem to think very highly of yourself.
What would you like to discuss?

I don't think I need to test my intelligence against the new levels of lunacy you have reached in this thread.

Example:

Step back and call on your Christian roots. The nation of America will stand against Israel in the last days. God will judge people & Nations! Separate yourself form the nation that walks astray.

Nothing wrong with supporting a candidate, however I seriously think you went off the deep end.

Let's not paint Paul's supporters with a wide brush. Remember more active-duty military give more money to Paul than any other candidate.

Heh, I was trying to have a conversation with my visiting Father a few nights back, when I asked him if he had heard of Ron Paul. As he was adjusting his hearing aids, he asked:

Ron who??? 🙂

I got a hell of a chuckle out of that one.

I then went on to say that Paul wants to go back to the gold standard. Dad almost spit out his teeth and says, we already tried that and it didn't work! Then he asks, who is this lunatic again?

I said Ron Paul

Dad goes, who in the hell would vote for him?

Ah, the veiled GWB reference.

We don't need either of your scenarios.
