I will not be voting.

I'm going to take this one step further I think:

VOTE FOR SALE!
$20 OBO

Hell if all the politicians are doing selling their votes and positions making a nice buck, why shouldn't I?

If you don't vote, then you don't get to complain.
You've got that backwards. If you vote for crappy politicians you have no right to complain since it was your vote that put them in the office.
Australia is one of the many countries with a mandatory voting system.
Back in USSR we had mandatory voting system as well. If you did not show up at the polling station your friendly neighborhood police officer would pay you a vist and give you a gentle reminder to vote. They were always gracious enough to escort you and hand you the ballot to make sure you fully excercise your dut.... errr, right. Ah, those were the days.

Regardless if it makes any difference in the big picture I can't abandon my duty to vote. There are places in the world that men and women die trying to have a voice in how they are governed.

I don't like any single candidate. I don't like the party system. I don't believe anything any single one of them spews.

Try to convince me all you want. They don't deserve my time or energy.

"My back is spineless. My belly is yellow. I am the American non-voter."

You are part of the problem ... American Apathy. I could care less about trying to change your mind. If you don't like things then change them.

Vote is not duty, it's a priviledge.

I think more people would vote if the ballots had an option of "none of the above" and a certain threshold for vote percentage would be set. As it stands now, we don't really have a choice to send a message when we don't like either of the candidates.

Hope that made sense.

That's astonishing. Do they decide who or what you're going to vote for if you don't have a choice?

If voting ever becomes mandatory in the US, I'm going to start the "Free Shit" party. Free medical, free home loans, free collage degrees free booze, and free weed.

You've got my vote

Just because it's on the books doesn't mean it's something that's enforced.

How is this enforced?
Do they put people in jail/prision who refuse to vote?
Do they fine them $1,000 dollars?

What is the repercussion? or did they just put "voting is mandatory" on the books without mentioning any punishment for violators?

You should be able to add a write in candidate:

Write in "Mickey Mouse", "Spongebob Squarepants", or some other character. or maybe "Youreall Abunchofidiots".

Bonus points for asking the poll workers if "Ren and Stimpy" counts as two votes.... 😵 😵

The OP should be banned from posting in P&N

Since he admits to not voting he has zero say.

Undecided if I will vote . The only guy running locally is a doctor . He was my family doctor at one point. I just don't know about voting for someone that once told me 'turn your head and cough'

I also admit to being the Zodiac Killer, Shoeless Joe Jackson and The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

LOL ban me from P&N... that's awesome.
Don't mind him. Der Fuhrer tends to get moody.

Well, he already had you by the balls before. Might as well...

..perhaps he decided to see can he pull off the Political equivalent of a PSA exam with one hand on each of the patient's hips... 😵

Good One! 😀

This thread just shows much of the ignorance that people have about the different candidates. About what they will get done, who they will work with, what the will compromise about and what not.

I think the main problem is being able to find this information out from a site that tries to be none biased with the information presented. Not just what they say, but the specifics of what they want to do.

If we could have easy access to good information and make an informed decision rather than just voting for who they like or party they want or against some random "fact" that isn't close to true.

Now if someone has a good website that has this information or a way to get the specifics of what the different candidates talk about I would love to see it.

This would also mean that the candidates have actual plans and know what they are talking about. This could also show those who don't have any idea about what they are going to do or what they want to do.

I am no different sure I know a lot of the basics and some about each person and some other stuff but I can't really make a "good" decision about who to vote for. Right now I am actually not unhappy about the candidates running, there are things I like and dislike about each.

I'd 100% vote for this.
