I-WILL KK266

I am builing a computer, and I am planning on sticking an AMD 1.4 GHZ in an I-WILL kk266. I thought this was a safe bet, until talking to some people about compatabilty (w/ SB Live! x-Gamer 5.1) and the fact that it doesn't used DDR Ram. Does anyone have any opinions on the matter? Thank you

Those problems might have been with the 1.0 and Rev 1.1 boards. Right now they're at Rev 1.2. I haven't heard of such compatibility problems recently.

The Iwill KK266 is a great board provided you used the right bios. I am currently using a modded bios (modded from bios version 4.26) called luckydaze. The modded bios fixes crashing problems with 3dmark2001 by changing some registers, it also addes extra ram settings and the ability to disable ACPI. I haven't had any problems with my SB Live! either. You might have to use bios version 5.08 if your Athlon 1.4 uses the 100MHz FSB. Many people have been having problems with this bios version such as rebooting loops. For more information check out the Iwill forum at 'www.amdmb.com'.
