What did you guys think?

I quite enjoyed it, just stretching, holding poses (downward dog, duck, horse, camel toe, dominated tiger, etc).

Not sure of the style but it didn't go all new age and that BS that I would have hated. I just wanted to see what it was about. I think they were suprised by my flexiblity...(gymnastics, hurdling, weightlifting) and made most of the poses but failed the camel toe.

Quads and shoulders FELT THE BURN due to me not doing anything that last longer then a few seconds. Hell brushing my teeth my shoulder feels fatigued. Did that horse pose held for a while, down to one ankle, turn and pose up with my right arm, hold, horse again, then repeat to the other side and my left foot was shaking due to me not being use to it lol. I had the best squat technique :thumbsup;

I've refused to pay for it but it's included in my monthly fee at the gym near work so I'm paying for it already.

I took one class a while ago and wasn't a fan of all the BS new age spiritual/energy talk. I've also tried a couple DVDs at home with the gf, which have been better, but still nothing spectacular. I could definitely use a boost in my flexibility and yoga on rest days seems like a great way to get it.
 
I did yoga during university for strengthening and flexibility, and honestly I found it to be less effective than weight training, plyometrics and core strength, at least in terms of helping my running.

That said, hot chicks in yoga pants, sweating and moaning = massive win 😀
 
two ruptured disc in my back a few months ago and yoga and pilates have me back close to 100% without surgery. good stuff.
 
Yeah, I would suggest most people try an older studio that focuses on calmness and allowing people to meditate inwardly instead of having some instructor on a headset chanting to you. Ashtanga and vinyasa are the more popular types and I've come to love Bikram...but for some people, it could be a little too intense. Try a few and you'll find out which type you like...whether it be quick, flowing movements/poses or something where you're holding a pose for ~30 seconds.
 
The thing I particularly like about yoga is its emphasis on hamstring and hip flexor flexibility. However, I find exercises like good mornings better for hamstring ROM and rowing more effective for hip flexor ROM. Yoga is great for those who need strengthening like rdubbz, but you can do what they do no matter what your sport is. You just need to find the movements that help ya.
 
I think it's good. I just prefer lifting or cardio and don't make enough time for it despite it being a good way to address chronic tightnesses I have.

Yeah for some they want the new age spiritual/ energy talk but that isn't for me. I can do that on the can.

The only tough stuff I found was the duration of holding things and keeping my arms raised for so long. It was seriously killing my shoulders! Everything else I was flexible enough to do.

PS I guess we don't have that many avid yoga'ers as the CAMEL TOE and DOMINATED TIGER are NOT yoga poses! I just put that in there 😛

I guess most people don't stretch enough so they would benefit a lot.
