I am ging to be travelling afar, so I bought some headphones....

I got the Sennheiser PXC250 noise-cancelling headphones for about $90.00

and I got the Koss Sportapro headphones for about $20 (for working out).

So what's next? Man!!!

i'm in the market for headphones too (everyone tells me my ipod headphones wont suffice)

can you tell me where you got them at those prices and how you like them thus far?

i DEFINITELY need some workout headphones....

amazon has the sportapros....apparently they are the best for working out, and are the best rated headphones under $20.....I did a crapload of research on this.

i got the sennheisers from my work...I get about 50% off Sennheiser stuff...some of the perks because I know the Sennheiser dude very well. hehehe

maybe i should get some high end ones right now...

have the sony noise-cancelling earbuds, but they suck because they hurt my ears.

i also hvae the sony mdr-v300 headphones. they are pretty good, but hurt my ears after 3 hours.

maybe i have weak ears.
 
I bought my wife a set of Koss SportaPros over 3 years ago and they sound really good (to my untrained ears anyhow). My one complaint is that the cord shorts right where it connects to the drivers. We've had to replace the headphones at least 2 times now for this reason. Kudos to Koss though on their lifetime warranty. For $6 you can send back the broken pair and we've gotten a brand new set each time. 🙂

Good choices, it's what I would have gone for. If I had more money I would have purchased the Etymotic ER4S for travelling though, you can't beat the sound quality and isolation it offers. At $230 it's pretty expensive 🙁

Well the good news is that most of the stuff is pretty high end already, except for the CD player. So I'll run out of excuses to upgrade soon 🙂

HD 600s...very nice. I just picked up my first pair, some Grados SR 60s. Very nice headphones for the price.

Rufio... nice cans...makes the trip so much more enjoyable🙂

Shhhhh...I'll have to check the reviews first. The HD 600s aren't much better than the 580s and I doubt (or my wallet is hoping) that the 650s will be much better than the 600s. A source upgrade would do more in any case 🙂

I'm now seriously comtemplating getting a DAC, god help me because I am broke 🙁
 
I stopped when I spent at the $500 point (dt770 pro, meta 42, ath-w1000, various cables)
Since then I sold everything and bought a sr225, no more upgraditus for me.
Concentrating on building an old cd collection.
However, you have the RKV, I guess you have crossed the point of no return.

I saw the RKV for cheap so I had to jump on it, $750 shipped brand new 🙂

I was SO CLOSE to selling my Stax Classic 3030 setup and just buying a pair of HD600s and making a META42 to go with it. Damn RKV had to get in the way or I'd have more money in the bank now. Good thing I sold the Stax or I would be in the negative lol. 🙂
 
My Grado SR-80's are 4 years old and the cord is starting to go right now, I've pretty much decided to get myself the SR-225's and a nice headphone amp. Mmmmm...

That's the coolest part about headphones, 4 years later they will still sound good 🙂 Buy that $400 video card today and next week it will be worth $100 less.
