the guy is my neighbour but since we all worked together.. we went out for lunch.
Anyway I was talkign to Jeff, the guy who was below me as teh jr. system admin (before the owner brought a know it all MCSE guy).
Well Jeff told me they run Wireless (Cisco Aironet running A+B) anyway in all my time i have never seen so much lapse in security.
I sat outside, turned on my laptop got a signal and i was in.
Problem is that its NOT on a seperate subnet or IP block (like at home my wired network is 192.168.0.1 and the wireless is 192.168.1.1 which sorta isolates the two networks a bit - though you can probe to find the wired computers if needed) but in this case it was wide open.
If I wanted to I coudl go straight thru and find their files and do stuff.. and since their windows share password is so easy (everyone logs in with one user id so they can share on teh network).
I was laughing my head off.. oh well that's life aint it.. glad I am not in that stupid ass company (though I could do with $20/hr)
