how is that backwards?

it's very logical

how many teens turn into murderers? very very few. it's basically not a concern for most parents. no matter how much violence they watch, they aren't going to become violent people

how many teens are going to get pregnant, get someone else pregnant and/or get STDs? Substantially more.

Thus parents are naturally concerned about the greater risk.

ugh. such stupid logic.

sorry to tell you but movies aren't the reason kids are having sex or std's. IF you took every single sex scene out of every movie/book/song it wouldn't stop kids fuckign at all.

It's not THE reason, but it clearly has an influence.

So yes, in some cases, it does make a difference.

If you don't think that what we see on TV and in movies influences behavior, why are so many billions of dollars spent on ads?

The best acting comes from the supporting actor. The end falls apart and becomes silly. It's only worth it for being an Original Script.

Cristoph Waltz was really the only good thing about it. And I thought Samuel L. Jackson was good. Otherwise the whole movie was like Tarantino trying to out-Tarantino himself.

I enjoyed the movie, being a big Tarantino fan, but yea the worst thing about the movie is the screenplay. Neat concept but scattered and filled with holes, found it odd it won the Oscar for screenplay

Thinking about it that is really a trend in Tarantino's films. My favorite works of his (Grindhouse and Pulp Fiction) are either collections of short films or a short film. Reservoir Dogs too but that is basically a single scene drawn out to an entire film. I don't think he can handle writing an epic

What about the 10-or-so seconds where you see Jamie Foxx's penis near the end of the movie? :p

My daughter invited some friends round at the weekend. After a few drinks, they got a game of Truth or Dare going. I listened from the other room, being the nosey little fucker I am.

The bottle landed on my daughter and she said, "Truth."

"Ok," asked her friend. "When did you last have an orgasm?"

She said, "Three days ago."

Then I burst in the room and said, "I knew you were faking it last night!"

... and after two hours and forty-five minutes of graphic, digitally enhanced violence punctuated by gouts of hydraulically propelled gore, I realized that I was just happy there wasn't any sex.
Parental teaching note:

Violence GOOD!!!
Sex BAD!!!

Dumb is as dumb did (and does).

<George Carlin>In all those old movie cliches, what if replaced the word kill with the word fuck?

"We'll sheriff, we gonna fuck ya! But we gonna fuck you slow..."

ahaha, the writing on the onion should win awards. so perfectly describes that situation.

i think they do win awards.

As the characters’ lovemaking grew increasingly urgent, the Schaeffers were reportedly buckling down and hanging on tight, steeling themselves with the knowledge that this was a PG-13 movie and that its adult content had to be—just had to be—over any second now.

The family was last seen letting out deep sighs of relief as the depiction of intimacy was interrupted by a barrage of gunfire and the film’s villains crashing through the bedroom window, mercifully returning the story to a scene of graphic violence

lol! pure gold

It is indeed.

Actually, I don't think it has anything to do with America, or American culture, or anybody's culture. I bet that if you could take a sampling of fathers from around the world, put them in a room with their teenaged daughter and a big screen, and give them a remote with two buttons labeled "Graphic Violence" and "Steamy Sex," the percentage of fathers that are going to push the "Graphic Violence" button is way over 50.

Because if sex wasn't treated like such voodoo and instead talked about more then maybe we would have a lot less pregnancy and spread of STD's.

The level of stupidity for people who actually think the less you talk about sex with teenagers the less sex they will have is about as low as you can go.

Hence the reason why the most religious states in our country (bible belt) have the highest teen pregnancy rates and std rates.
