He was in a car not on an elephant. Stop trying to improve the English language we have been using it a lot longer than you have.
Actually, it is neither a boot nor a trunk in the context in which you used it. It is properly referred to as a "deck lid". You guys can argue over what you want to call the interior space below the deck lid all you wish.

Oh, and cars have fenders and quarter panels. They don't have "wings".

This story has been posted on the internet in various forms for years.

Can't believe some people believe it could be true.

Properly referred to by douches....

Boot lid if you want to be pedantic.

Saw a guy in a BMW leave his laptop on top of his car then get in and start the engine. Hit my horn a couple of times to warn him and got his attention with a quick wave but as I was obviously some sort of minion and he was a grade A baller in a brand new beemer he decided whatever I had to say to him wasn't important.

Laughed so hard when the laptop fell off his roof, dented his boot lid and hit the floor.

The floor?

You were driving indoors?

The last time that happened to me, I went back into the store and asked for a refill (sheepishly, obviously). Everyone makes mistakes, and I PAID for that coffee dammit.

Chances are, she overpaid for hers, then left the trash there, in the parking lot, when she drove off. Double dumbass!
