Remember folks this car has carbon-ceramic brakes. Last I checked a set of these goes for about $8K.

On a Porsche 911 this is a $8,000 upgrade over the standard brakes.

No one is cross shopping a Z28 with a BMW M4 or a $110K GT-R - LOL.

Z28 is a purpose built track day car.

No one is cross shopping those cars because the Z28 is stupidly priced. And as an FYI, you can get a brand new GT-R for $95K not $110K - LOL.

yeah i agree with that. i don't think it will sell. it's just way too much for a camaro.

it's like when ford had that mustang gt500KR or whatever that was 90k. i can't imagine anyone in their right mind would actually buy that.

Well the Shelby 1000 was ~$200K, which I thought was stupidly priced as well.

Cool. Means there won't be a ton of them on every corner being douches. :awe:

Also lies. Amurkan redneck mullet cars can't turn. Some obvious editing going on. A Camaro bearing Porsches and BMWs in corners? Nevar! And Oh and "omg interior!"

This is why people buy this car, and why it's worth 75k, if that's what you're looking for:

http://wot.motortrend.com/2014-chevrolet-camaro-z28-laps-nurburgring-in-737-47-wvideo-416573.html

It's interesting to read the comments on that site, from actual car enthusiasts, vs. this site, which seems to be comprised mostly of ninnies and Prius drivers.

And I just went to NissanUSA to price a GTR - the cheapest GTR in existence stickers at just slightly over 100k.

There is also a lot of US hate by Europeans and Euro envy by Americans that plays a part in this. It's ok for Mercedes to create a black edition of already small production runs (AMG) but GM can't create a suped up versions of theirs.

That said GM has rarely if ever really had a car reach that high in cost. Hell the Corvette has just only recently earned enough cache to reach in to that amount, so a 70k Camaro seems like a bit of a stretch. 55-60k would be a better price point.

I bet the hood flexes if you jump up and down on it. Cheap POS American cars.

I think the price is good/fair for what it is. As I said, I expected it to be about $5k more.

as one commentator said, barrett-jackson 2054

Meh, depends on production #'s. If I was looking to buy and stash you would be probably be better off getting a COPO where the build out is only going to be 69 and the price isn't much more. COPO are setting stock class records at the strip.

The fact that they haven't built the z28 for a racing series does not help the long term value IMHO. No track day glory. I'm suprised they haven't tried to leverage publicity for the newly created United Sports Car series in which the Camaro's compete in the GT class.

It's not that the price is bad for what it is, it is that the car makes little sense. The Camero's market is not comprised of people who would pay $75k for a track car, which is what this essentially ends up as.

The people who car how fast something does Nurburgring and are in the market for a track car aren't the most likely Camero buyers.

And for those that want a DD, at the end of the day, you're still inside a Camero that cost as much as a Porsche.
