i was wondering how long do my cables have to be

if i have an antec the alien ware case from antec because i am getting rounded cables 18 24 or 36? i want some thing that isnt too long or short

DiabloFunds: Is that case like an Antec SX1030? If so, I used a 24" to reach the four bays at the top, with 18" doing great for the other areas (HDD's and Floppies).

I just put together my SX1040B case (same as Alienware's case) last week and it's sitting next to me with the side panel off.

Peering into it...

HDD cables can be 12" and still have plenty of room
Floppy could be as well, but 18" is fine
CD's would work with an 18" w/ no problem

Hope this helps! 🙂

Unfortunately, this depends upon where the drive interfaces are located on your mobo. With my KT7A/SX1030, I needed 24" to get to the top bays.

Check the AMD specs........they limit IDE cables to 18" to be in spec......24" or 36" are not recommended for some reason like signal loss.
