i was simply messing with my hosts file, need some help.

hi, I added the IP of sony.com to associate with news.com and saved the hosts file.

as i expected, after this, when i open my web browser and type in news.com, i go to sony's site.

i then went back to my hosts file, totally deleted the IP of sony to news.com entry

went back to my browser, typed in news.com, but still it calls up the sony site.


i went back to the hosts file, added the IP of news.com and associated it to news.com

went back to my browser, typed news.com, but the sony site still comes up, why is that?
 
hello, well previous to me posting here, i deleted all my cookies and cleared my history in my browser and it didn't help, so i posted here.

notice i entered into my host file the IP of news.com to be associated to "news.com"

this should have totally allowed me to be able to get to news.com when i type it into my browser, yet i was still going to sony.com... ?
