I don't think so. He never said anything about it being funny.

Your sir, are correct.

but the basic principle is the same? the title stated that something is something but when you read the post its totally not?

well the title claims rickrolling, and this claim is highly disputable. seems like some kind of violation to me.

rick roll = no
oldsmoboat's law = no
fail = yes
minor self-ownage = yes

this is my understanding of this thread regarding several internet memes

Rick Roll in a restaurant might pertain to someone requesting a song but getting Astley instead.. I would classify that as a Rick Roll. This.. not quite, but a good try.

I don't know what they want... I just thought it comical that it was being played...

I would say ATOT is getting way to anally elitest lately... but that would insinuate it was somehow less anally elitest at some point.

Exactly. To be properly Rickrolled you must be tricked into causing the song to start playing. Just hearing it playing somewhere without taking any action yourself does not qualify.

There must be the element of free will, and the pain must be self-inflicted.

So I guess you can also be Rick Rolled at a Rick Astley concert?

No, you expect to hear that song at a Rick Astley concert....

You don't expect it at "All You Can Eat Burrito Night" at a Mexican Restaurant/Bar.

you have failed to understand what being rick rolled is....juts like people in the past have failed to understand the Darwin award.

Ofcourse, it is better than failing all together like E equals MC2.

No I understand very well... I get your point but you are missing mine. It is ridiculous that the song was being played.

I realize I wasn't clicking on a link IRL that I thought was for some burritos and suddenly I saw a Rick Astley video. I get it...

Still ridiculous that the song was played there...

but ... but ... you still weren't rick rolled.

I was doing something else, I wasn't expecting it, Rick Astley was involved, it completely caught me of gaurd, I felt owned...

Yeah... not technically rickrolled, but fucking close enough.

just print this out and stop while you are ahead:

pdf to list

Damnit! Will you stop posting taht damn link?! I like Rick Astley and all but how many times do i have to view that damn video?!:frown:

It's your fault for clicking that link. First it said it was a PDF when you can clearly see that it links to youtube. Secondly, it's using the most popular youtube rickroll link (ends in uuiU) which you should know by now. Mouseover before clicking shit next time.

picking frank sinatra on the jukebox and getting rick astley = rick roll

hacking the town cable channel, when people are actually watching, and giving them rick astley =

What about setting up an FM transmitter with a mile or two radius and playing it on a popular frequency during the morning show?

Hm... /me is off to look up transmitter costs
