I was just told that I look scrawny and "fake" ?

I wish I looked like that after only 8mo. of working out. Maybe she means that if you look like that after only 8mo. (did she see before pics?) she thinks you juiced. Gotta be honest, if you were a really scrawny computer nerd 8mo ago I would have to say juice to get that big after 8mo. On the other hand, it doesn't look like you were truly ever the toothpick computer nerd and your muscle looks natural. I say F her and hit PC on spring break. If you don't get any it's definately your personality/severe lisp.

24 and you haven't been laid? Dude, you're working out the wrong muscles. You aren't scrawny, get some confidence and go get laid.

That picture is actually old. It's from early January which would be 6 full months of working out.

Here is me @ 175lbs just prior to joining my gym.

That was taken after i dieted for a month and lost 10 lbs.

If 185lbs is scrawny and "fake," I don't want to know what I'd qualify as in her eyes. :laugh:5'8", and somewhere between 115 and 120lbs (it varies throughout the week). 18.2 BMI.

You've got a lot more visible muscles than I had, even when I stocked shelves or worked in a warehouse. In those days, I could lift more than my own weight (which peaked at 126lbs), but nothing ever really manifested itself in terms of changed appearance. Yeah well.

Exactly. He needs to stop worrying about muscles and figure out where the punani lives.

Girls like muscles, right? That has always been the stereotype, so I decided 8 months ago to get muscles and I thought that maybe with them I'd be able to get my first girlfriend. Some guys work out to get more girls, but I am working out to *A* girl, ya know? I'm trying to go from 0girls/year to something more than that! I would be thrilled with even 1 or .5 girls per year. I'm 24 btw which is pretty damned pathetic..

So there is this girl that I pretty much chat with daily. I met her on craigslist and went on 1 date. She is very friendly, but my gut feeling was that she never liked me as a boyfriend. I always knew this. Usually I can tell whether someone likes me or not, and when in doubt, I assume that they don't. But for some strange reason though, this girl IMs me daily....

During todays daily chat, we were talking about my difficulty dating and why I'm still single. She went on to say that I am scrawny. She told me that I'm naturally scrawny but appear as if I work out to overcompensate for this. But even with working out, I am still scrawny and look somewhat like a wanna-be-tough guy.

Huhm... unless you are extremely ugly, its hard for me to believe that you never had a gf before. The only people that I've noticed that don't have a gf by that age are weird.. They are anti-social, or they are psycho... That being said, if you are psycho, I think trying to make friends is the first step. It will get rid of the "psycho-ness"..

Come to think of it, after a certain age (I believe this age to be 21), if you are normal, finding a girlfriend is inevitable.. Actually, some "not so good looking" guys find gfs by this age. In any case, just IMHO...

You can still meet girls regardless of your body size. I met plenty when I truly was scrawny. I could meet more now if I wasn't married, but it's still possible. I was much thinner then you are.

If you're really worried about size then start eating and lifting more seriously. I've put on a LOT of weight in the past 14 months.

Well I do not really have that many friends... And I am slightly on the weird side.

During our conversation today, she did not immediately label me as scrawny off the bat. She first explained her impressions of me during our first date. She mentioned that I seemed very "rigid" and "regimented" and at times talked in an unemotional robot-like manner almost as if I had "no personality". She also sensed that I fit the profile of someone who is potentially controlling or has anger issues.

... I do sort of have anger issues which is why my circle of friends isn't as large as it should be. Basically my life consists of 1) working as a software engineer 2) working out 3) playing occasional video games 4) reading and browsing the web 5) watching occasional TV. I only go out maybe 1 or 2 times per month.

My life in college consisted of: 1) studying 2) video games

Basically this girl thinks that I'm a loser and therefore writes off my muscle as "fake" and "overcompensating"

She also told me that I seemed "on edge" and very "high strung"... I guess this would be true. It would also be true of my family. My whole family is nuts 🙂

The first pic has exceeded it's bandwidth...

I'm 5'10 and 83kg in my videos in my sig.

Your pic at 175 isn't scrawny, 160 would be scrawny! The BMI is rubbish if your moderately stacked with muscle. If you don't train much then it works out.

Koing

well... she's right then?

I knew someone in HS/college that was something like 6' or 6'1" and weighed perhaps 135 pounds, soaking wet. He wasn't terribly handsome either, but managed to get all the tail he could possibly want.

Your looks are probably not the problem.
