I was just thinking...

Malak

Lifer
On a very special episode of Malak's Ponderings...

In the bible it says at the end of this world, when it is replaced, there will be no tears and the sea will be removed. Also death and destruction will be removed. Aside from images of mummies roaming the earth, this made me think about water's impact on life. Typically looked upon as necessary to life, water is also the most destructive force and responsible for shaping and reshaping the world.

Water has been important and yet God plans on getting rid of it... quite curious.

please quote where it says all water will be removed.

If you believe God is all powerful, he can create a reality where you don't need oceans. I'm not entirely clear why this making you think, there are more mysterious stuff to ponder.

I did not mean to imply it said that, I am speculating.

Where does it say this?

I didn't misquote anything and I don't care how old the earth is.

Revelation 21.

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life

I think you missed the whole point of that passage

In what way? Your reference seems unrelated unless you have some speculation you wish to discuss.

John 4:10

Your OP was about God taking away water. It was always said that once you gave your life to Jesus, he would provide you with living water.

I still have no idea what point you are trying to make here.

In biblical times the sea represents a dangerous barrier. It's not about losing a body of water but rather is a metaphor referring to the easing of cares, an assurance of safety.

Thinking is good though it's a bit like walking out your door. Like Bilbo you never can tell where you will wind up.

That is an intriguing conclusion.

I have a question, Malak, if say 30 unknown people got together today and wrote a new Bible, what would you think? Say an extension on the original, a New New testament?

Then I saw the new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had past away, and there was no longer any sea.

If you want to get metaphysical about water that's one thing, but Rev 21 doesn't seem to dwell on it.
