I was just browsing the craigslist ads and I came upon this

The car is local, the price of $450 is firm. From the pictures, the car looks like it is in excellent shape. The ad states that the car has no problems and drives great. It has 166K miles on it. I just emailed the guy about coming to see the car. I've always wanted one of these. For $450, what do I have to lose right....seems like a deal.

My wife used to have a CRX when we were dating in college. Great little car. It is fast, fun to drive and gets pretty good gas mileage.

I used to have a 91 CRX back in the day. I wouldn't describe it as fast, but they're fun to drive, handle well, very reliable, and got 45 mpg on the highway.

Make sure the owner isn't originally from New Orlean's, or some other recently flood-ravaged area.

If it still runs well, it doesn't matter for that price! Go get it OP.

What model is it? HF, Si?, also, is it auto or stick? If it's an HF then it's a D15B2 engine with incredibly long gears which means mad awesome gas mileage. If it's an Si then it's a D16A6 (not 100% sure), which means you get more HP and it's a little bit quicker. Incredibly fun cars that's for sure, I'd buy it if you found it for $450.

/owns 91 CRX

That's a steal if it runs. I owned 3, 2 of which I eventually did engine swaps and other things to. Man, do I miss my last one. If I found a black second gen SI that was unmodified and unmolested) I would pick it up in a heartbeat. I miss autocrossing/road racing.

My sister bought one of those new...I remember the sticker said something like 49MPG highway.

I think she traded it in 8 years later for a couple hundred less than she paid new

they weren't even remotely fast by modern standards, but they were a LOT of fun to drive and got great gas mileage. speed isn't everything. we had an '86 floating around my family for a while. my brother i and would take it out on joyrides every now and then. you could get rubber in third gear. of course, it was itty-bitty econo-car tire rubber, but it was still a blast.
