They're showing up everywhere now because the eBay pirates are returning them since they found out nobody cares about them anymore.

The fact that sony has only shipped a couple hundred thousand ps3's and they're still on the shelves leads me to believe that it will fail. Software sales won't be able to even cover the loss they take on each ps3, let alone give them or (more importantly) their developers.

You just bought a sega dreamcast, dude.

Does anyone have the sales numbers for the sega dreamcast? I'm pretty sure that the PS3 has already far outsold it 😛

dream cast sold a million in 90 days. it set records over how fast it sold. by the 2001 it had sold 10 million units. sony has not even come close.

Ok this is just criminal, you buy a PS3/bluray player and it doesn't come with component cables???!

It kind of sucks, but I got component cables off eBay for $17-hardly a big deal.
HDMI ftw, I just picked mine up today too. It's updating... nothing like bringing home a $600 machine and hooking it up to the network and then it telling you that it needs to update. :frown:
uh, do you drive a Model T?
