Same thing happened to me, only I was driving my girlfriends car. I didn't call the police and it turns out the insurance card he gave me (it was plastic and looked real) was FAKE :|

Police wouldn't do anything even though I had his drivers license # and address! He most likely just moved, he was a truck driver and didn't want to shell out $800 for repairs :(

wow... thats a great idea! thanks! jk....

Because neither of us were injuried and the damage to our vehicles was minor.

Thank you for not going off on women drivers, or suv drivers, or whatever.:D

Quite a mature attitude you're having about it!

Did you use her cell phone to call the cops? Did she have to cut the call to her girlfriend short, to make the call? :p (Only half joking!)

No, I let her use my phone to call her husband after I called the police for both of us.

Update:[/] I talked with my insurance company and they told me I could get up to five hundred dollars from her insurance company for the damage done to my car. No all I have to do is get a written estimate.

In many states, such as IL, its illegal NOT to file a police report if the damage is over 250 dollars (or another amount, depends on state.) I would much rather have the police there, making sure everything is being handled correctly than to get ripped off or some mistake be made.
