On my way home from work I stopped at the end of an off ramp to exit onto Newport road. Behind me was a Red Dodge Durango waiting to turn left too. I checked to make sure both ways were clear and start to pull out. Just as I let the clutch out a red pick-up truck came over the overpass. I quickly tapped by brakes to stop and BANG. It first I did know what happen and then I realized the Durango just ran into me. We got each got out of our cars after pulling over to the side of the road. She was really shaken up about the accident and kept apologizing. I took a look at the damage and told her it wasn?t all that bad and I would be ok. She wasn?t sure whether we should call the police. I recommended we call the police because she would have a hard time claiming the damage without a report. After waiting for about thirty minutes the local deputy sheriff showed and took our information. After about ten minutes he released me and stayed behind to talk to her.

I hope she will be all right and not blame herself too much.

And of course I have pictures.

Update:[/] I talked with my insurance company and they told me I could get up to five hundred dollars from her insurance company for the damage done to my car. No all I have to do is get a written estimate.

she probably got a ticket for improper/innatentive driving. I got one of thise and it was actually worse on my record than the accident.

your piece of crap car got paint on it! It's probably worth more now ;)

Just kidding :( I'm just depressed that my car is expensive :( Basically just handed my last 2 weeks of pay to the mechanic. Bastardly germans!

Same thing happened to me, only I was driving my girlfriends car. I didn't call the police and it turns out the insurance card he gave me (it was plastic and looked real) was FAKE :|

Police wouldn't do anything even though I had his drivers license # and address! He most likely just moved, he was a truck driver and didn't want to shell out $800 for repairs :(

Let's just say it keeps everything "honest". I've known several situations, including one that happened to me, where the police weren't called, and the other person totally changed the story to their insurance company.
