I was going through my Star Wars figures

My brother and I had a model Imperial Shuttle that after we finished putting together, we blew it up with firecrackers. It was great.

Keep telling yourself that...they're all dolls, some male and some female, but dolls all the same
 
One of my fondest memories as a kid was waiting for the special ones you had to save the "proof-of-purchase" from store bought ones, mail em out, then for then wait like 12 weeks for them to mail it to you.

That said, I sold all my Star Wars stuff back in the 90s after I moved a few times and got tired of having extra crap to move each time.

That's exactly why i gave them to my son. It always brings a smile to my face when i see him having the same battles I used to have. Its funny to because scale doesnt matter to him. He will have 3 1/2" gi joes fight transformers and power rangers and whatever else. Every time I see him play I wish I was still a kid.
 
I have my (heavily played with) original star wars action figures set up in my office plants.

I added some sand so that the jawa and tusken raider feel at home. Though C3P0 doesnt like getting sand in his joints. He's always complaining.

That's how they shipped the original set of figures. They had to idea the movie would be such a big hit, and Kenner couldn't make them fast enough for Christmas, so kids got a box of IOU's for figures.

They're very rare and go for big bucks in auctions (probably because everyone made sure to redeem theirs).

I just read that the telescoping light saber Vader is worth a lot of ching.

I had one when I was a kid. I think I set him on fire at one point. Fuuuuuuuuuck

😱 Just checked online and mines the one with the one piece extending light saber, so not so expensive. Although the sand person and luke in his xwing outfit bump things up.

Ah well its not like I could take them off him now.
