I was given a Speeding Ticket last night for doing nothing. *CONCLUDED*

read the conclusion, congrats man. what a waste of time and money for you.

your story pisses me off though, the judge is a retard and the police are lazy bums trying to rip people off and they're no better than thieves.
the DA is a butthole.
sounds like your local gov't is run by a couple of lazy greedy people who are more concern with putting $$ in their pockets then upholding the law and giving justice.

So letting people dragrace repeatedly in a known spot is perfectly fine?

I'm not saying that OP should have been issued a ticket for something he didn't do.

I'm sure the cop has been to that location multiple times, catching speeders, maybe picking up pieces after a wreck. Maybe he tried doing something about it.

Perhaps his intentions were good, but actions were a little off. But justice did prevail didn't it?

WINNAR!

Congrats

for once, the court system served some justice.

i have a feeling the court system wouldnt have had it not been for the officers dismissing the ticket. both the judge and the DA seemed like they were out to get the OP for good.

i'd hate to live in the town OP does. this is plain and simply absurd

Congratulations and thanks for the regular updates. I'm glad it's done.

Unfortunately, you demonstrated why most folks do not fight their tickets (all that time off from work = money lost for many folks). If you factor in insurance hikes for 3-5yrs afterwards if you don't fight it, it's easier to justify, but, still a major inconvenience on a long shot that you'll win. I'd still fight (if innocent), but, I understand why others do not.

So you promised to quit road racing even though you had never road raced before. Plus, you gave the cop a kudo, by letting you off this time.

Congratulations, you have assured the rest of your neighbors continued harassment...

You weren't at fault in any instance, but the cop is making it look like you were and his superiors won't think anything of it.

That's hardly the outcome he really wanted, but you try going through the hassle he did and come back to us with your better than thou attitude.

Yes he got out of it, but had to swallow his pride and basically admit he was at fault...Sorry, but I have too much pride and ego for that.

That's understandable then...just that the DA wouldn't have seen/gone your way. I'd rather admit guilt than pay a BS fine b/c some dickweed DA already assumed I was guilty.

I have to agree with Nitemare here. Just because you ride a motorcycle in an area where the cops say roadracing is known to happen doesn't mean that you should be ticketed for something that you did not do and put through all this hassle. That's pure BS and the cops should be called on it.

Ding Ding Ding...

Agreeing with Nitemare though is just so wrong...

Sometimes.. as in this case, its just easier to call it a day and let them have their win. In the end, its really a win win for both people. Bill didnt have to pay a dime and nothing is on his record and the cops get to think they got their point across.

Glad to hear that things went OK. I can sort of understand that cop's point of view. However, he was a real jerk for not showing up for the first court date, in my book.

You realize that officers have lives too? Or perhaps he was stuck working. Who knows.

Sounds like the biggest jerk of all was teh DA.

You're right. Something could have come up.

This whole thing just seems like an entire wast of resources. Seems like every party involved contributed to the problem in one way or another.

Glad to see everything worked out! But seriously, you THOUGHT about speeding up and down that road every day since then! 🙂

CONGRATULATIONS! By your reply it seems you would be paying the ticket as cops don't like brash people with big egos. After all the time spent on this I would gladly agree with the cops to dismiss the ticket. With age comes wisdom and I think the best way to deal with people is to make them THINK they got what they want, even though you won in the end.

Also, Congrats on getting out of that mess!

I say it's a win. I mean all he lost was the right to hang out in whatever parking lot that was. It sucks that you can't go there anymore because some other idiots were racing. But honestly, one hang out spot is as good as the next. A lot of people here are too quick to accuse you of being one of those wheelie poppin nitwits that we see on sport bikes. You sound pretty level headed to me. Let the judge and the DA think they have their moral superiority. Well done for taking it all the way.
