Let's be honest no body likes paying taxes, is it so bad if we want corporations and rich individuals to pay their share that they owe without bitching up a storm?

That would be Reagan;)

Here is the quote attributed to Reagan: "Republicans believe every day is 4th of July, but Democrats believe every day is April 15."

No. They shoud pay their fair share. But I contest that them paying millions of dollars in taxes while you pay a few bucks is not fair. We all used the roads equally. We all enjoy the same military protections. We all get/use approx. the same, yet they are supposed to pay a higher percentage of their income? Just because, "they can afford it"? That doesn't sound fair to me.

Ha, laugh of the day.

Millions that RBC members would have a hard time figuring out how to spend in a lifetime Vs the lowly bottom Caste members deciding on money for dinner or send minimum on credit card bill.

So they should pay more simply because they can? That doesn't sound "fair" like the guy I was responding to wanted.

Yes, Keep in mind that I was responding to someone. Keep that in mind.

You know, it's not the big coporations that people should be b!tching about, it should be the Amish.

Now that does sound like a joke and in a way it is, but think about it...coporations do what?...they employ people they give jobs to people and pay taxes wether they pay their fair share in your opinion or not is not really the issue as much as the the fact that the Amish PAY NONE...yet they use our roads, they don't pay income tax and I may be wrong here, but I beleive they are tax exempt on purchases....why? Because of their belief system the goverment excuses them from the same rules and stipulations to which all others abide(se[eration of church and state anyone?)....now i ask how is that fair? Why crack down on these corporations that help people by giving them jobs and do paytaxes yet we let these Amish slide by without paying taxes and they don't do a damn thing to help employ anyone other than their own (which if you think about it can be construde as discrimination because if an all white coporation failed to employ a black person there would be hell to pay)....and they do nothing really to stimulate our economy yet reap some of the biggest rewards..... Why not offer these incentives to other religions or beliefs?

I dunno maybe I am being a bit to overly critical....

Taxes are voluntary and here is why, from my essay on government power (this has nothing to do with the tax code):
Americans have submitted themselves to government control just by using Federal Reserve Notes, even if they do not realize it. The reason why is very simple, the government has an extremely convenient scheme set up. The government collects taxes in the same currency it prints! This may not seem like a very profound statement, but it is and the reason why is this. If the economy commonly accepts Federal Reserve Notes, all of the workers in the economy get paid in these notes and all the prices in the economy are set by these notes then the government can conveniently collect taxes in this currency. Now, the relevant question will be posed: what if the economy did not accept government issued currency? Under the current laws the government would have an utter disaster on its hands. The reason why, is that the government for all practical purposes cannot collect taxes in a private currency. The government must have an official currency declared in which it collects taxes. If the government has an officially declared currency and everyone pays their taxes in this currency but the economy rejects it the government will not be able to render goods and services in order to operate. It will have been effectively shut down. Now, let us consider two simple facts about the current law:
A. No business is forced to accept Federal Reserve Notes as payment.
B. The usage of private currencies is perfectly legal.

Since these two facts are true, Americans have voluntarily submitted themselves to government control and taxation. Therefore, no matter what the tax laws say, taxes are voluntary in the respect that people have voluntarily accepted the government currency that is paid in taxes. No other conclusion can be made. So, what is the real cost of doing business with Federal Reserve Notes? Well, annual inflation on average is about 3%, but this is not the total cost. If you factor in government expenditures as a percentage of the GDP you have well over 30% of the GDP. Therefore, the cost of doing business with FRNs is actually well over 30% of the GDP every year. What an enormous price to pay for a ?stable? and ?honest? currency!

I have a hard time fathoming why it is acceptable to legally discriminate against someone based on their ability to build wealth.
