I want to upgrade

Not sure if to post here or in General Hardware...mods, please feel free to move.

I have (roughly) $300 to blow on something. I am trying to decide, based on my current setup below, what to upgrade.

Videocard (Open for suggestions...anything better than my current 5850) 🙂 Looking at this one at the moment http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130932

OR

RAM I would drop another 8GB of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231550 into it.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera @4.2 by only bumping up multiplier to 22.5
SSD 250GB SAMSUNG 840 EVO
Memory: G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
HSF: Noctua NH-D14 (SILENT!!!)
Video Card: Radeon HD 5850 with Twin Frozr cooling (SILENT!!!)

It's either upgrade my computer, or buy this soundbar for my TV 🙂

Thanks for any help/suggestions

I'm building a new rig to sell with spare parts, and would kind of like to drop the 5850 into the new build. The videocard I have plays everything well, but I would like to be more current as that card is OLD!!! I play first person shooters, and don't do photshop or any video editing.

The speakers on my TV SUCK...that's why I put that out as an option

Then go with the gforce.you don't need more ram for gaming 8gb is perfect.

See Denis, I am trying not to let my personal brand preferences sway what would be best for CDC Mail Guy. 🙂

I just don't know why you would replace a video card that admittedly runs everything fine while you sit in front of the TV every day barely able to hear it.

5850 is pretty oudtated. With $300 you could buy an R9 280X 3GB. Considerably better than the 760 you were looking at. They're as low as 269 these days.

Everyone's TV has poor sound. An off-brand soundbar is not going to be earth shatteringly great the way a new GPU is. You can get into more demanding games like Metro and Crysis 2/3 and Farcry 3 etc.

well, I just read an article in Maximum PC...so the R9 280X 3GB it is!!!

Thank you for all the input, and I think I was leaning toward the videocard anyway.

Thanks for the push ya'll 🙂
